Objective

To mentor overall Skill Development activities, Training to high level trainers and Faculty members in the specific sector of Solar Energy to increase competence across industry and academia.

Financial Assistance

Capital Expenditure: Maximum up to Rs. 5 Crore
Operating Expenditure: Maximum up to Rs. 5 Crore
Total Eligible Financial Assistance: Rs. 10 Crore over the 5-year operating period.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to technical educational institutions in the sector across shop floor, supervisory and managerial level for improvement of skill.
  • Collect information on all the technical courses being offered in the State, considering the need to upgrade and make them industry responsive.
  • Study and suggest to Government the required changes in the curriculum of technical courses aligned with the changing needs of industries.
  • Organize training programmes for Faculty Development and Training for Trainers.
  • Benchmark courses offered by ITIs / Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges with international and national standards.
  • Select and coordinate with Nodal Institutes.
  • Continuously evolve new training programmes based on industry needs and implement improvements, modifications and upgradations in courses based on industry feedback.
  • Arrange faculty and speakers from institutes, industries and professionals for training programmes.
  • Encourage faculty to undertake R&D and consultancy with specific focus on skill development.
